Israeli-U.S. relations quickly grow tense after Biden reverses Trump’s anti-nuclear initiatives
'If Biden adopts Obama's plan, we will have nothing to talk about with him.' one official says
Israeli officials are already bracing against the Biden policy of normalizing relations between the U.S. and Israeli.
“Israeli television reported that Jerusalem is warning an American return to the former terms of the nuclear deal with Iran under President Joe Biden could lead the countries to a crisis in relations.
Channel 12 news cited ‘a very senior Israeli official’ as saying: ‘If Biden adopts Obama’s plan, we will have nothing to talk about with him.’ The official referenced the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action signed by former President Barack Obama in 2015,” TV: Israel reported.
America’s Israeli-American relations created huge rifts between the countries during the Obama days; Biden is sloppily advocating and implementing some of these same policies. Many people thought the old deal, now resurrected by Biden, was a temporary fix that would not prevent Iran from producing nuclear weapons.
As President Trump understood, we think Iran cannot be trusted with nuclear weapons in its hands. The notion that Biden can somehow create honest relations with Iran is a fictional concoction at this time–and likely throughout a Biden Administration. We understand Israeli’s concerns.
