Car-jackings and shootings on the rise in Chicago- Criminal acts caught on police video
One of the alleged criminals was about 12-years-old
The Chicago Police released a Video that purportedly depicts young men engaged in serious criminal activity on the streets and avenues of Chicago; the police told ABC 7 more than 120 car-jackings have occurred since the beginning of the year.
In one of the views, it appears that two men pullup next to a car and confront the sole occupant of that vehicle. One of them, while brandishing a gun, highjacks the car.
According to the Chicago Police, the suspects are linked to other crimes over the past week in the city and suburbs and understand they are using the stolen cars to rob businesses then,” the ABC article said.
Meanwhile, Chicago police Superintendent David Brown told reporters the youngest robber in recent attacks was about 12 years old, and the “average” age of the robbers is between 15 and 20.
Additional video shows two individuals leaping through a fast food restaurant’s drive-thru window. Officers said they believe the persons are attached to armed robberies in Summit, Maywood, Matteson, Palos Heights, Oak Forest, and Oak Park.
Some of the suspects are allegedly wanted in other shootings and are considered armed and dangerous, according to WGN 9.
Meanwhile, at least 23 people were shot, six of them fatally, over the weekend in the Democrat-controlled city; more than 4,100 were shot during 2020.
“Carjackings in Chicago have risen dramatically in the last year. In 2020, carjackings more than doubled over the previous year as police set up a task force to tackle the issue,” the ABC report concluded, Breitbart reported.
