18-year-old Wichita-area woman found dead days after her boyfriend’s lifeless body found
The cases appear linked
Wichita police located 18-year-old Kaylah Blackmon in her Ford Escape two days after police said she “may be in danger,” but they did not release details of her death.
Her boyfriend, Michael Beasley, 17, was found dead a few days earlier outside a church after there was a reported shooting; the police had been looking for Blackmon’s vehicle since then. The cases appear to be linked.
“I will forever have a hole in my heart but will tell lots of stories to keep her memory alive, so her baby sister will know who she was,” her mother, Angelia Stephen, told The Wichita Eagle.
A gofundme page has been set for Kaylah with some comments:
“Please help us raise these funds to pay for funeral expenses for Kaylah. I’m sure this is the last outcome anyone wanted from this situation. I can’t fathom the pain her parents are in. We lift Kaylah and her family and friends in prayer. May the Lord provide you comfort and strength during this time. Kaylah was 18, graduated in 2020. She was a beautiful young, vibrant soul. Kaylah will be missed by many, and the pain of her loss will be felt for a long time. Thank you for your donations. Please share! Any donations will be given to Charles Blackmon.”
