Biden has taken his first step down the surreal rabbit hole by Picking Anthony Blinken for Secretary of State
Joe Biden will pick Antony Blinken as U.S. secretary of state. Blinken is a longtime Biden crony who served as No. 2 at the State Department and as deputy national security adviser in President Barack Obama’s administration. Biden served as vice president.
We don’t foresee confident offerings from this guy. Former Defense Secretary and CIA chief Robert Gates once said, “Joe Biden had been wrong on almost every major foreign policy issue over the preceding 40 years.” Blinken was doing the advising at the time.
Blinken has also received criticism for his recent consulting work and early support for the Iraq War; “Blinken advised Biden to vote for the Iraq War—a failed endeavor. Ricochet editor-in-chief Jon Gabriel wrote on Twitter on Sunday.
Blinken was Biden’s top aide in 2002 when the former senator voted for a resolution authorizing the use of force in Iraq, according to the progressive magazine The Nation.
Blinken is expected to focus on an artifice that will include direct plans, including returning to the Paris climate accord and rejoining the World Health Organization (WHO).
President Trump’s decision to withdraw from the WHO was based principally on China’s control and direction over the organization. There seems to be little doubt that Trump was correct in his appraisal. We wrote the following during the Trump/Biden campaign.
“The President has frequently criticized the WHO, claiming that the organization treats China’s version of the Corona Virus origin, and the steps are taken to combat it, as the unadulterated truth. Trump strongly opines that China has all along misrepresented the truth—particularly their reporting of statistics concerning the virus’s spread and fatal results. The U.S. is the largest financial backer of the WHO, giving them around $450 million annually. China gives about $40 million. According to the BBC, German Health Minister Jens Spahn described the setback as “disappointing” although he accepted that the WHO “needs reform.” The EU “must take a leading role and engage more financially.”
President Trump intends to give funds to other qualified and worthy health organizations. We support the President’s decision. For too long, China has taken advantage of the United States in multiple circumstances. The clandestine operation of stealing trade secrets is one example. Trump has been making significant trade deals, but he must remain vigilant on matters like this. The WHO is functioning like a puppet where China’s interests are concerned.”
The WHO is not worth joining, and Biden is en route to staffing his office with appointees who have counseled him to engage in failed policies. Biden has taken his first step down the surreal rabbit hole.
