California billionaire and political activist Tom Steyer launched his campaign to impeach President Donald Trump.
The good news is that in the United States you can be wacky and a billionaire.
California billionaire and political activist Tom Steyer launched a campaign to impeach President Donald Trump. Steyer has spent “well over” ten million dollars to air the ads in all 50 states. Although he once indicated that he may run for President, he has since said he would abandon that effort and would instead “redouble his efforts” to impeach the President before the 2020 election. He expects to spend $40 million on these efforts.
Some Democrats are upset claiming that this money could be spent directly on Democrat candidates. “Most people come to Iowa around this time to announce a campaign for president,” Mr. Steyer said in prepared remarks, which were obtained by The New York Times. “But I am proud to be here to announce that I will do whatever it takes, for as long as it takes, to remove a president.”
Steyer has already held a “training day” for fellow activists and a town hall in Washington, D.C., aimed at reassuring skeptics on both sides of the political spectrum while also pressuring lawmakers to act immediately.” He has called Trump a “wacky” and “crazed & stumbling lunatic.”
OUR FREE OPINION
Steyer appears to be the wacky, crazed and Stumbling lunatic. The only supporters he could hope to get would consist of voters who already hate Trump and are almost exclusively Democrats or left-leaning. The Senate has a Republican majority, and they certainly would never vote to impeach the President. His notion that he could have been a viable candidate for President is incredulous. The good news is that in the United States you can be wacky and a billionaire.
