Civilians, Children, Women and Medical Providers Reported Killed as Assad’s Troops and Iranian-Backed Soldiers Swarm Aleppo
Screams for help could be heard throughout East Aleppo as civilians dodged bullets, night sticks and balls of fire as forces loyal to Bashar al-Assad and Assad’s troops swarmed the last enclaves of the city meting out hell’s fury.
Syrian troops and Iranian-backed soldiers are said to be within days or hours of crushing the territory once held by the opposition and approaching total victory in the war that has cost tens of thousands of lives over four and a half years.
The UN secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, expressed “grave concern” over unverified reports of atrocities against a large number of civilians, including women and children.
Some reports are saying that civilians, medical providers, and children are being killed– Eyewitnesses say some children are being burned alive and there have been executions of unarmed people on the streets. There could be as many as 100,000 civilians trapped in the area that is measured at less than five square miles.
