Michael Cohen Is Not a Credible Witness Against President Trump
If What He Said At His Plea Hearing Is True, He Has Been Lying For Over A Year
Presiden Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen implicated the president in a crime to influence the 2016 presidential election. Pleading guilty to dodging taxes and campaign finance violations, he alleged that Trump directed him to pay hush money to prevent two women – a former Playgirl model and a former pornographic actor – speaking out about extramarital affairs. Trump recently called Cohen a bad lawyer who had caved to pressure from biased federal prosecutors
OUR FREE OPINION
The problem for the government is that Cohen is not a credible witness. If what Cohen said in court is true, then most of what he said for more than a year was demonstrably false. Many of his criminal acts were cemented in dishonesty. That hardly makes for a compelling witness. We think he is a dishonest common-variety snitch who is trying to save his own hide.
