Is Beto O’Rourke the progressive icon who, during his Senate run against Ted Cruz, talked about legalizing marijuana and impeaching Donald Trump? Politico asks “Or is he the centrist Texan who, during his first run for the House, raised the possibility of making Social Security less generous for future retirees?”
Just what does he believe, actually? Ask him, and he will say “I’m for everyone.” He has not laid out specifics. To be fair, most of those running for President have been short on detail.
OUR FREE OPINION
O’Rourke has a style about him when he addresses audiences. He bounces across the stage as if he has been tossed in a lake while not knowing out to swim.
He makes simple arguments. No discrimination at the workplace, all people across the linked fence separating El Paso, Texas and Mexico are fellow Americans. (Really, I thought you had to be a citizen first before calling yourself an American.) If we are really serious about immigration, we can work together to create a plan that is in the best interest of the United States of America. (Why not work against America’s interests, dork.
SOME SIMPLE THINGS O’ROURKE SAYS
Let’s bring these wars to a close and bring these soldiers back home.
The fires and floods will only get worse in the world.
Let’s end our love affairs with dictators all around the world.
Our success depends on the success of our democracy.
We will have same-day voter registration across the country.
Opportunity must be shared with all.
Trump (after the release of the Mueller report), is a Russian agent.
The point is, O’Rourke has no substance.
