Obamacare premiums are set to skyrocket according to a government report released Monday. The price hike is the latest blow to the Democrat’s controversial health insurance program that Hillary Clinton supports.
Over 11 million customers may be subjected to the massive increases. Many families can no longer afford the doomed program advanced by Obama and supported by Hillary Clinton. Unions, who already provide good health plans for their members, are skeptical of Clinton’s support for the Act. Many small business owners say the program has drained them financially.
The plans unveiled Monday contain far fewer choices and significantly higher prices and arrive toward the end of a presidential campaign in which Republican candidate Donald Trump has called for the repeal of the Affordable Care Act.
In Illinois, rates will increase by an average of 44 percent for the lowest-priced individual bronze plans, 45 percent for the lowest-priced silver plans and 55 percent for the lowest-priced gold plans. Oklahoma’s increase is around 60 percent.
Minnesota will let the health insurers in its Obamacare market raise rates by at least 50 percent next year after the individual market there came to the brink of collapse, the state’s commerce commissioner said Friday. On average, rates in the state will rise by about 60 percent, said Shane Delaney, a spokesman for MNSure, the state’s marketplace for Obamacare plans.
The announcement of the virtual failure of the program has come late into the presidential campaign and the dismissal numbers back up what Trump has been saying all along. Now that Trump has been proven correct, there remains the question of getting this message out to the public in time for the election that is just two weeks away.
