Toronto landscaper accused of killing eight men who went missing between 2010-17 has pleaded guilty to their murders.

Bruce McArthur, 67, was arrested last January and charged in the deaths of two men, and police subsequently charged him in six other cases.

Most of his victims had links to Toronto’s Gay Village neighborhood.

Many of the victims’ remains were found in plant pots on one property in Toronto’s Leaside neighborhood according to the  BBC.

There has been a split in opinion as to whether serial killers become (psychopaths) owing to their environment or DNA. Recently, scientists are placing substantial emphasis on biological factors, including low heart rates and other physiological factors. Brain scanning technology has shot to the central front where biological studies of serial killers are concerned. In his book, Anatomy of Violence, Adrian Raine makes a strong argument that a psychopath (including serial killers) inherit certain biological defects.
