Trump Followed Obama’s Lead by Not Casting Blame Without Examination in Charlottesville

Over a thousand protesters gathered in front of President Trump’s home in New York today to protest against the President’s perceived lackluster response to events in Charlottesville, Virginia over the weekend when a woman was killed and 19 injured during a white supremacist rally,

The President announced today that a federal civil rights investigation was being launched to determine wrongdoing by the participants in the Charlottesville riot.

“The New York Police erected barricades and a line of sanitation trucks in front of Trump Towers to block access by the protestors. Earlier, as the president tweeted that he was “leaving for New York City,” the sidewalks outside his home were packed with protesters while shouts of “No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA,” and “Not my president” echoed down 5th Avenue,” the Guardian reported.

The police in Charlottesville acted poorly during the protest events, exhibiting little if any, control. They let the protest turn into a deadly riot. A woman was killed, many people were injured, and state property, including monuments, were destroyed.

Liberals were quick to blame President Trump even though he condemned the actions shortly after the riot. In similar situations in the past, President Obama correctly refused to attach immediate blame to white racists in another tragic event.

President Barack Obama called the nine deaths in the Charleston, South Carolina, church shooting “senseless murders” and suggested more gun control is needed in the wake of the tragedy.

Any death of this sort is a tragedy. Any shooting involving multiple victims is a tragedy,” said Obama, as Vice President Joe Biden stood alongside him. “There is something particularly heartbreaking about death happening in a place in which we seek solace, and we seek peace,” CNN reported.

President Trump has ordered an investigation by the Justice Department to uncover the facts to determine what action to take. We agree with the approaches used by both Presidents. To blame someone without examination is useless logic.
