Elena Laguna Salgado Had Been Missing From Provo Utah For Three Years- Her Remains Were Found 3 Years Later

See Update Below.

A 26-year-old Provo, Utah woman has been missing since April 16. Elena Laguna Salgado has not been heard from since she left a class at Nomen Global Language Center in Provo. While there is no direct evidence that she has been kidnapped or harmed, family members are concerned because her failure to make contact is out of character for her, and there has been no reported activity on her credit cards, social media or email. Salgado is from Mexico and had only been in Provo for one month. She speaks fluent Spanish and some English. An award in the amount of $15,000 is being offered in this case. She is 5 feet 4 inches tall and was last seen wearing a denim jacket, blue jeans, black or brown knee-high boots and carrying a denim handbag with red straps.

Anyone with information about her disappearance is urged to contact the Provo Police at 801-852-6210

Update: Ms. Salgado’s remains were found in 2018 some 15 miles from where she was last seen. Police have launched a homicide investigation.
